Why Mulch? Why us?
Back in 1995, our sister company, C & K Box Company, produced a large volume of clean wood waste; and, like most companies at that time, was paying to have the waste routinely hauled to the landfill. Well ahead of the current "green" state of mind, Mark Stevens formed Mulch Wholesalers and began grinding and coloring that clean wood waste into an earth-friendly alternative to the landfill. In 2021, Dustin and Becky Ruth purchased the business from the Stevens. They continue the legacy created by the Stevens of providing quality products while also providing the highest level of service to our customers.
All of our colored mulches, as well as the Natural hardwood and Playground mulches, are produced on site. We can control the color, consistency, and quality like no other mulch business in the county. In 1999, due to customer demand, we added quality vendors to market bulk Cedar and Bark products, and we expanded again in 2002 to offer ice melt products, including a bulk salt bin and 24-hour availability during Michigan's inclement winter weather.
