How much Mulch do you need?
As soon as we say there are 27 cubic feet in a yard of mulch your head hurts from the math that may follow. Well, we know the shortcut and we're letting you in on it. First measure (as best you can, knowing that not every area is a square) the square footage you are trying to cover. Got it? Good. 1 cubic yard of mulch will cover approximately 100 sq ft at 3" thick. If you have existing mulch there, you can stretch that yard a little further, but a 3" thickness is recommended for effective mulching. (Check that link for mulch FAQs!)
